Babao Arnis Seminars !

Every year has been so amazing , being able to spend time with the Babao Family and learn the Art , Culture and Family bond that is Babao Arnis . After meeting GM Narrie Babao a few years ago its been a true blessing to spend time with his family GM Zena Babao , Master Nar Babao , Master Jack Babao and Maestro Kris Babao several times a year . I have learned a great deal and I am very thankful to them .

In October 2015 I had the unforgettable privilege of volunteering for the Bruce Lee Foundations celebration of Bruce Lees 75th anniversary . He would have been 75 years old in 2015 , and a two day celebration was held in Las Vegas , I was able to help the family by working the concession stands giving out samples of the new " Bruce Tea " drink as well as JKD/Bruce Lee T-shirts and stickers, and got a chance to meet a few of the core JKD family members , as well as see a few who I knew . I cant say what a honor it was for me and Creative Warrior Academy of LV . Here are a few photos taken at the Las Vegas Container Park where the event was held .

We were a small crew gettin the job done ! Bruce Tea is delicious , energizing , and healthy !

We started off 2016 with a huge honor hosting Guro Jason Inay son of the late great GM Mike Inay founder of Inayan Serrada , a very fast and effective Eskrima system very closely related to Cabales Serrada . We found Guro Jason to be very knowledgable , fun and very skilled . Hopefully we can get him to come out to LV again , here are a few photos from the seminar which was held at Creative Warrior Academy headquarters .

In April of 2016 we had the honor of having my good friend and Guro Iggy Casas here at CWA to do a workshop for us . Guro Iggy is a senior student of GM Yuli Romo , who needs no introduction in the Filipino Martial Arts communities around the world . I was very fortunate to train in some of Guro Igz methods and mechanics for a year or so , when he lived in Las Vegas . Whenever he visits I try to learn more of this rare and ancient method of fighting . Here are a few pictures of his seminar which I held at the City Athletic Club in Las Vegas ,

In May of 2016 , we had the most welcomed honor of hosting the Babao Family for another seminar in Las Vegas . I held the event at the beautiful City Athletic Club in Las Vegas . This was a very special occasion as it is the first time since we started bringing out the Babaos a few years ago that all 3 brothers could attend . Master Narrison Babao , who has taken over as head of the Babao family after the sudden and sad passing of his father GM Narrie Babao , was assisted by his brothers Master Jack Babao and Maestro Kris Babao . Their Mother the lovely and heartwarming GM Zena Babao ( Auntie ) came with them as well . They went over various techniques and methods used by their Father , GM Narrie Babao . The seminar began with Master Jack showing Sinawali heaven 6 , and Sinawali Dungab . Followed by Maestro Kris teaching a pass and counter technique , both brothers then teamed up to show a drill called Anino . This technique was taught to GM Narrie Babao by GM Leo Giron and is a Largo Mano method involving shadowing or countering with the same angle of attack as your opponent . Master Nar finished up with some really fantastic locks and knife disarms ! As always we learned a great deal and had a blast ! To top it off my wife and I got invited to share the GM Narrie's delicious bbq chicken and ribs recipe prepared by Master Jack at Auntie Zena's beautiful resort . Its almost a tradition for my wife and I to prepare a feast for the Babao family at Creative Warrior Academy headquarters , on the menu this time was my grandma Lucys spaghetti and meatballs recipe . In July Creative Warrior Academy was invited by GM Ted Sotelo to a tournament in Las Vegas called KSDI Worldwide . This event was held at the Westgate Hotel and is hosted by the Kajukembo communities from around the world . Teams in Las Vegas to compete included Kajukembo Schools from USA , Greece , Mexico , Puerto Rico , Great Britain , and Canada . I was highly impressed by all of the teams , the respect , honor and heart they showed was awsome . They fought extremely well in all events , and my student Nick Erdmann and I were honored to be allowed to fight in the knife fighting division ! It was alotta fun battling with knives , I took a silver medal home , and Nick brought home a bronze medal . I was very proud and honored to be a part of it and will be planning on returning in 2017 ! Special thanks to GM Ted Sotelo ! Here are a few pics of the event !
